Worth Mentioning

Diocesan seminarians receive lector ministry

Twenty-eight priesthood students from St. Meinrad School of Theology received the min-istry of lector, Feb. 10. Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein of Indianapolis installed the lectors.

Among them were Brian Emmick and Jeffrey Read from the Diocese of Evansville.

The ministry of lector is conferred upon those who prepare and proclaim readings from Scripture at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. A lector also may recite psalms between the readings and present the intentions for the general intercessions.

Job bank announced

“Do you have an opening in your parish, school or organization for a youth, campus or young adult minister?” asked Steve Dabrowski, diocesan director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (OYAYA). “If so, finding the right place to begin your advertising is one of the more daunting aspects of the initial search. In order to address this need, the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry has added a Job Bank to our website.”

Dabrowski said the service is free to any diocesan parish, school or affiliated organization, “and it is a great way, along with your ads in the Message, to facilitate your local search. This service is for youth and young adult openings only, and we will not publish other openings at this time.”
