The fifth grade at Sts. Peter and Paul School in Haubstadt has been working on a differentiated instruction lesson pertaining to the American Revolution, according to Kalyn Herrmann, principal.
“The students each took a section of the two chapters on the American Revolution and found the important dates, events, people and the events’ cause and effect.
“They were then put into groups and they made posters and presented the information to the class. A time-line was put out in the hallway and the groups put the important facts on it.
“The students then choose four projects to do for their assessment. The projects dealt with writing, drawing, making pamphlets and acting. The students were able to use the computer and other technology to create their projects.
“It was amazing the variations of the projects and the students have them on display in the hallway. The students explained to the different classes their projects. Several students asked the fifth grade about the American Revolution and they were able to answer all their questions without any help!”
