In solidarity
“Students have been studying the Third World countries that Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl supports,” said Marianne Webster, principal at Holy Redeemer School, Evansville.
“On Holy Thursday, we will serve a rice and water lunch option to stand in solidarity with the poor. Lunches cost $1.75 and $1.35 of that will be collected and given to Catholic Relief Services. Our lunch time will be silent.”
Happy Birthday!
Tad Dickel, principal at Mater Dei High School, Evansville, celebrates his birthday April 17.
New faculty member
“We are happy to welcome Miss Margaret Hedde to our Resurrection teaching team,” writes Angie Johnson, principal. “Miss Hedde has a degree in elementary education, with a learning resource minor. She is working closely with Donna Scheller to serve our students by working with small groups and tutoring.”
Winners
Catherine Bell, Aimee Buechler, Zachary Grewe, Ashley Luegers, Maddie Messmer, Shannon Sonderman and Zach Wittmann, students at Holy Family School, Jasper, are winners in the annual Southern Hills writing contest.
Gold ratings
The following students at Holy Family School, Jasper, received gold ratings in the district solo and ensemble contest at Southridge High School: Kyle Freyberger, Luke Messmer, Chelsea Roe, Ellen Backer, Zach Grewe and Shannon Sonderman.
Both Zach and Shannon received silver ratings at state competition.
Prayer partners
Students at St. James School, Haubstadt, hosted their prayer partners during their Holy Thursday service, according to Michelle Priar, principal.
