School Notebook

Collaboration between public, diocesan schools

The staffs of Corpus Christi and West Terrace schools in Evansville recently met to discuss Differentiated Instruction strategies,” according to Marty Craig, Corpus Christi principal.

“We have partnered with their principal Todd Slagle to discuss the different approaches that both schools have pursued to obtain the same goal.”

She said, “Mr. Slagle and I intend to meet again during the next school year and even have our teachers visit each other’s classrooms to learn from each other.”

First place

Caylin Wigger has won first place in her age division in a world-wide “Safety on the job” poster contest sponsored by the American Society of Safety Engineers.

She has been invited to at-tend an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

She is a first grader at Good Shepherd School, Evansville.

Silver

Zach Grewe and Shannon Sonderman, students at Holy Family School, Jasper, both received a silver rating in state solo and ensemble competition.

Art show

Eight students at Mater Dei High School, Evansville, have had entries accepted into the annual High School Art Show at the Evansville Museum: Steph-anie Fields, Samantha Dewig, Sam Kuban, Lance Kolker, Quinn Schroeder, Kim Glinis, Juliette Faraone and Lori Lau-derdale.

Academic All-City

Congratulations to students at Memorial High School, Evansville, named to Academic All-City teams:

  • Wrestling: Zach DeHaven, Tanner Wedding, Roy Whet-stine, Preston Edge, Jim Lan-dry;
  • Basketball: Kent Conway, Trev Wilgus, Mike Nesbitt, Andrew Goodin, Kyle Isaacs, A.J. Roberts;
