Suggestions for sponsors — after Easter
RCIA sponsors show what it means to be a Catholic — by sharing their own experiences, according to Benedictine Sister Geraldine Hedinger, diocesan director of the RCIA program and the Office for Adult Formation.
Here are a few ways sponsors can become companions to neophytes:
- Share childhood memories of growing up Catholic and share some of the ways your family participated in the traditions of the Church;
- Invite your neophyte to parish activities and diocesan events;
- Extend an invitation to join you and your family for dinner;
- Share how living out the social values of the Gospel impacts your understanding of the mission of the Church.
