353 Catholic high school seniors will receive 2009 diplomas

Three-hundred fifty-three seniors will receive their high school diplomas this year in the four Catholic high schools operated by parishes in the Diocese of Evansville.

Graduation ceremonies in the diocese begin in Vincennes on May 22.

Fifteen seniors at Rivet High School, Vincennes, will receive their diplomas from Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger and Dr. Dan Herman, school board president. Graduation begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Ralph Holscher gymnasium.

Rivet’s valedictorian is Philip Halter; he is the son of Rick and Debbie Stevens. Meredith Goodwin, the daughter of Da-vid and Eileen Goodwin, is salutatorian.

Washington Catholic High School, Washington, will hold graduation ceremonies on May 23. Bishop Gettelfinger will be conferring the diplomas to the 25 graduating seniors. Gradu-ation begins at 11 a.m. in the school gymnasium.

Jakob Babrick, Morgan Jarrett, Mathew Mahan and Emily Schenk are Washington Catholic’s 2009 valedictorians, and Leanna Larkin and Bran-don Zipperle are salutator-ians.

Their parents are Rodney and Jamey Babrick, Jeff and Christine Jarrett, Jack and Karla Mahan, Pam Capehart and Rick Schenk, Anthony and Kimberly Larkin, and Ed and Susan Zipperle.

This year’s graduation ceremonies for the 179 seniors at Memorial High School, Evansville, will be held at 1:30 p.m., May 24, at The Center in downtown Evansville.

Bishop Gettelfinger and Lisa Popham, assistant principal, will hand out diplomas. Valedictorians include Rachel Courtney, Susan Ellsperman and Tess Rudolph.

Their parents are Terry and Carol Courtney, Michael and Melody Ellsperman, and Ross and Kim Rudolph

One-hundred thirty-four seniors at Mater Dei High School, Evansville, will receive their 2009 diplomas on May 24, at a 4 p.m. ceremony at The Centre.

Bishop Gettelfinger will confer the diplomas. Benedictine Sister Jenny Miller will be the guest speaker.

Andrew Ritter and Patrick Elpers are Mater Dei’s valedictorians. They are the sons of Dan and Mary Ritter, and Kevin and Elaine Elpers.

Mason Blankenship and Kris-tyn Seibert are salutatorians; their parents are Thomas and Lisa Blankenship, and Thomas and Jane Seibert.
