An opportunity to pass on the legacy of a Catholic education
Many of us have had the privilege of a Catholic education, at an elementary school and/or at the secondary level. Some of us may not even have been aware of the people who made our education affordable. This education has shaped our lives and the lives of so many of our families and friends. In past years, Catholic religious men and women served our Catholic schools as teachers and administrators. They were our living legacy for Catholic education.
As we wish to pass on the tradition of a Catholic education, we need to ensure that a new legacy will be available for future generations. The question most frequently asked is “How can I help a student afford the same education that I have received?” One way to assure that students will receive tuition assistance is to create a legacy in your or in your family’s name. An endowment to assist with tuition is an opportunity to provide annual income to a Catholic Elementary or High School forever. A gift of $5,000 or more creates a new legacy by establishing an endowment and will generate a percentage each year forever to assist with tuition. Your family and future generations will see students receiving this assistance from the gift that you have made.
For more information on how you can pass on the legacy of a Catholic education through an endowment, contact the Catholic Foundation of Southwest-ern Indiana at (812) 424-5536 or by email at lcox@evansville-diocese.org. You can also visit the website at www.catholicfoundationswin.org for more information. Together, we can ensure that Catholic education is available for all students in our Diocese.
