Around the Diocese

Thanks

Father Jim Koressel and Father Ray Brenner both recently celebrated the fortieth anniversaries of their ordination to the priesthood.

• In a letter to parishioners at St. Peter Church, Montgomery, and All Saints Church, Cannelburg, Father Koressel writes, “My special thanks go to all who arranged the nice reception honoring my fortieth anniversary. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and to all for their cards and congratulatory greetings.

“The celebration was just what I wanted. I was very pleased to celebrate Mass and spend the day with all of you. I will treasure the kind words of affirmation that you shared with me. I pray I can live up to the many wonderful words of praise and thanks that you bestowed upon me. With God’s help, I can.”

• Father Brenner wrote in the bulletin at St. Joseph Church, Jasper, “The celebration of the anniversary was a humbling experience for me. I’m not used to having people do so many things for me from the planning of the events of the day, to the music for the Mass, to the decorations in the church and the parish center.

“Thank you again for all your cards and gifts of kindness and the many that were able to come. I read every note on every card and I appreciate your kindness.”
