Mother Teresa Christian Service Awards — accomplishments listed

Editor’s note: Following is a continuation of listings begun May 22, with details for each honoree provided by the nominating parish. Ceremonies were held May 18 at Good Shepherd Church in Evansville.

Gerald Joseph Braker, Good Shepherd Church, Evansville

Gerald Joseph Braker has been a member of Good Shep-herd since 1962.

He was one of the founding members of the St. Vincent de Paul Conference in 1971 and has held offices in the conference.

He has volunteered at the food pantry. He has been Mass usher, bingo worker, social worker, collections counter and assistant Boy Scout Master.

He transports others to needed appointments. He faithfully visits and assists the poor of the community by working with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Because of his unselfish service to others, it is fitting that he receive this award.

Mary Jane Buehner, St. Bernard Church, Snake Run

Mary Jane Buehner is a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society and helps clean the church. She is an energetic and caring person, always willing to help around the parish and anyone in need. Anything you ask of her she is always willing to do. She is raising her two grandsons who attend Holy Cross School, where she is a volunteer in the library and in the classrooms.

Maureen “Mo” Dix, Holy Cross Church, Fort Branch

Maureen “Mo” Dix has been a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church and attended school there.

She has served on various commissions and has been a faithful Eucharistic Minister for several years. Mo is good to everyone, especially her family and pat-rons. (She is a hairdresser.)

She is always there to help anyone in need, whether to take someone to a doctor appointment, ride to Mass, pick up groceries, etc. She has a special calling to the elderly and is always there to help in their time of need.
