Two Sisters of Providence celebrating 25th anniversary

Two Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods celebrated their silver anniversary June 27. They are Sister Carolyn Bouchard and Sister Catherine White.

Both formerly ministered in the Diocese of Evansville.

Sister Carolyn Bouchard is a native of Long Beach, Calif. She currently ministers as a member of the Woods Day Care/Pre-School staff at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Carolyn entered the Congre-gation Aug. 15, 1984, from St. Anthony Claret Church in Fullerton, Calif. She professed perpetual vows Aug. 12, 1995.

She graduated from Fullerton Com-munity College with an associate’s de-gree in pre-school education. She re-ceived a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Marian College and a master’s de-gree in pastoral care and counseling from Christian Theological Seminary.

Indiana ministries:

Evansville: youth minister, Holy Re-deemer Church (1987-1988).

Indianapolis: assistant director, Resi-dential Services staff, Simeon House (1988-1989).

Lawrence: pastoral associate, St. Law-rence Church (1989-1996).

Sister Carolyn also has ministered in Virginia.

Sister Catherine White is a native of West Chester, Pa. She currently ministers as director of the Diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection for the Diocese of San Bernardino, Calif.

Sister Catherine entered the Congre-gation Aug. 14, 1984, from St. Joseph Church in Muskogee, Okla. She professed perpetual vows Aug. 15, 1992.

She graduated from Immaculata Coll-ege with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received a master’s degree in education from Oklahoma City University.

Indiana ministry: Evansville, as pastoral associate, St. Agnes Church (1986-1989).

She also has ministered in Los Angeles.
