Mater Dei, Memorial student grants total $420,000
By PAUL R. LEINGANG (Message editor)
While the impact on student enrollment won’t be known for several weeks, the total amount of grants-in-aid awarded to students at Mater Dei and Mem-orial high schools is approximate $420,000, according to Margaret Angermeier, administrative director of the Catholic Education Foundation, Diocese of Evansville, Inc.
The funds come from three sources —- $300,000 from the Catholic Education Foundation, $60,000 from the Mater Dei Friends and Alumni in honor of the school’s sixtieth anniversary, and up to $85,000 from the Memorial Friends and Alumni Association, also in honor of that school’s anniversary.
Applications for grants and appeals of earlier grant decisions continued into early July this year, Angermeier said. The number of students receiving grants is not being reported until enrollment figures are confirmed.
Tuition rates for the 2009-2010 academic year are in the box below.
Tuition payments for the year, or at least for the first semester, were due July 15.
