By PAUL R. LEINGANG (Message editor)

Screenshot of The Message OnlineThe Message, which has been published since Oct. 2, 1970, has a new place on the world wide web in the twenty-first century — at www.themessageonline.org.

Following months of preparation and testing, the online edition of the Message is avaialable for readers and advertisers — and for everyone who has computer access to the web.

While more features are being planned, much of the Message is already available online. Sub-scribers on vacation can keep up with diocesan events no matter where they are. Family members of people in feature articles can view the stories in print or on line.

Columns and feature stories are updated every week. Stories from the Church in America and the Universal Church are updated by Catholic News Service, with new items daily throughout the week.

The Message online site was designed and is regularly updated by Brandon Evans at 7 Leaf Design in Indianapolis. Evans is also the designer and webmaster for The Criterion in Indianapolis.

In addition to the features, columns and general information, the Message online edition also includes advertising from companies and businesses seeking to reach a Catholic audience. The advertising is tasteful and informative, and helps to support the publication costs of the Message.

Readers, subscribers on vacation, family members in distant cities, and advertisers who support the communications ef-forts of the Diocese of Evansville are invited to check out the Message online. “Message is a common component of many online offerings, so it is important to enter the full name: www.themessageonline.org.
