Worth Mentioning
Seek and Find Consignments offers fund-raisers for non-profits
Seek and Find Consignments, with three locations in southwestern Indiana, offers to help churches and other not-for-profit organizations by providing display and sale of donated items.
Inventory is donated by those passionate about the mission and needs of their favorite charity. The item(s) are then inventoried by Seek and Find and placed within the shop(s) and on the company website for monitoring by the client.
The individual donor receives the tax advantage for the donation; the items are sold by Seek and Find; and then a monthly check is then issued to the charity.
Among clients are Holy Redeemer Church, Deaconess Hospice, Aurora and Lifechoice, all in Evansville.

Internet strategies for congregations
What’s the role of internet technology for the local congregation? That’s one question to be probed at the workshop, Internet Strategies for Your Congregation.
The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at First Christian Church, 4544 Old State Road 261, Newburgh.
Although this is not a website creation or technology “how to” class, presenter Dave Bourgeois explores with participants useful and relevant information to help congregations discover practical uses for internet technology, ways to implement those ideas, and how to move forward with a plan of action.
Bourgeois will review the results of a two-year study of effective practices of internet use in congregations. He will also incorporate case studies of congregations who are successful at using the internet and examine reasons for their success.
Bourgeois is an information systems and technology educator at Biola University in Southern California. His research interests are in the areas of faith, technology and how they can work cooperatively.
The workshop fee is $30 a person ($25 a person for congregational teams of three or more). Registrations received by Sept. 11 are guaranteed lunch and workshop materials.
The workshop is limited to Indiana congregations.
