Several opportunities for adult formation are currently taking place in the Diocese of Evansville.
- Activities That Teach, Thursday, September 24, 2009, 6:30-9:00 p.m. CDT, Holy Rosary Parish Hall, Evansville, with Mickie Paulin, DRE, St. Mary, Ireland as the presenter. Hands on workshop with lots of ideas for parents with children of all age levels. Great ideas for catechists.
- Principles of Catholic Social Teaching, Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 6:30-9:00 p.m. EDT, Our Lady of Hope Parish Office, Washington, with Jackie Kissel, OSB, DRE at St. Anthony, Evansville as the presenter. It has been said that the greatest secret of the Catholic Church is its teaching on social issues. Beginning with Jesus in the Gospel, come and discover that secret. Find out the principles of social teaching which the church has embraced.
- Mary and the Saints, Saturday, October 10, 2009, 9:00-11:30 a.m. EDT, Sacred Heart Parish Hall, Vincennes, with Bonnie Wink as the presenter. Our Catholic Tradition holds in high esteem the many women and men who were faithful to the call of God in their lives. Our young people (and mature people) are needing role models of our faith who feed their spirit and give purpose to their lives.
- Internship in Spiritual Direction, beginning in January, 2010, at Kordes Retreat Center in Ferdinand. This is a three year intensive program designed for those called forth from the community to do the ministry of spiritual direction. This internship is co-sponsored by the Office for Adult Formation of the Diocese of Evansville and the Sisters of St. Benedict, Ferdinand. The Internship program offers an integrated program of prayer, theology, scripture, spirituality, process, skill development, practicum and supervision.
- Foundational Curriculum Classes continue to be held in various locations in the diocese. These are classes in scripture, church history, sacraments, liturgy, trinity, christology, morality, spirituality, and prayer.
