Faith formation
“We have made a few changes to our spirituality program to enhance the formation of our students,” writes Tad Dickel, principal at Mater Dei High School, Evansville.
“Each class has now held their own class Mass, and I have been pleased by their reverence during Mass. These Masses were added to help build our faith community and promote camaraderie among the classes at Mater Dei.
“We are truly blessed by our ability to come together in pray-er as a community.”
Demolishing
“After several meetings of the Finance Committee, Parish Council and an Open Forum meeting, we have determined it in the best interest to demolish the old Parish Center (convent),” writes Father Ray Brenner in the parish bulletin at St. Joseph Church, Jasper.
“The work will begin in the near future. The cost of bringing it up to the standards of the present parish are prohibitive and the present center provides for our needs.”
Vocations
“The Spiritual Life Commis-sion of Resurrection has developed a Cross Vocation Prayer Program,” writes Father Phil Kreilein in the parish bulletin. “If you or a couple or a family would like to pray for a week or more for all vocations, please sign the sheets in the lobby.
“One person, couple or family will receive a prayer booklet and cross to keep and use. Each day of the week there is a different vocation {marriage and family, single life, priesthood, deacons, sisters, seminarians, lay ministry) to pray for and help you and or others discern their own vocation.”

Beanies for Baghdad
“One of our sixth grade students, Melissa Roales, is collecting Beanie Babies to donate to Iraq and Afghanistan children,” writes Angie Johnson, principal, in the Resurrection School newsletter.
“These are distributed through a group called ‘Beanies for Baghdad,’ who ship these to our soldiers to be distributed to the children. Melissa has worked hard and donated several Beanies. She has raised money to buy these Beanies, through making homemade greeting cards and selling them. We are very proud of Melissa and her spirit of giving.”
