People We Care About

Following is a feature in the Message, designed to help draw together the People of God in southwestern Indiana. Readers are invited to submit information about people who may benefit by some extra prayers and attention.

• In a recent e-mail, Emily Stewart Head writes, “Friends and relatives, Some are aware of my illness at this time others are not, so here is the info.

“I am in Deaconess Hospital in isolation for now but what happened was I ended up with MRSA (a Staff infection) in my spinal cord and possibly in the back bone. So I am paralyzed from the waist down, if I have anything to say it will not be permanent.

“I will be in Deaconess for another week then I will go to the nursing home part fifth floor here at Deaconess for a few more weeks on IV antibiotics

“There will not be a Thanksgiving dinner this year. I am so sorry, but do pray we have something to celebrate next year even if it means just being home in 2010.

“Love to all and thanks for the prayers.”

Emily is a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Evansville.
