Brother of chief operating officer dies in car crash

Funeral services were scheduled Friday, Dec. 18 in Ridgway, Ill., for Mark Allen McGuire, the brother of Tim McGuire, chief operating officer of the Diocese of Evansville.
Mark McGuire, 44, died Dec. 14 as the result of an auto accident near West Frankfort, Ill. He was involved in a head-on collision as he was returning home to Raleigh, Ill., after taking his daughter to St. John Catholic School in West Frankfort.
His survivors include his wife Lori (Overstreet) and their three children, Matthew, 18, Benjamin, 15, and Kaitlyn, 11. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Linda McGuire of Ridg-way. His brother Tim and Lisa McGuire are residents of Evansville. Another brother, Charles Anthony, preceded him in death.
Scheduled services included a prayer service and visitation on Dec. 17 at the Cox Funeral Home in Ridgway, and the funeral Mass on Dec. 18 at St. Joseph Church in Ridgway with Father Trevor Murry.
Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger was to concelebrate.
