Message website winners announced
Prizes are being awarded to Tracy Burch of Loogootee and John Michael O’Leary of Evansville who emailed the Message after viewing the new Message website, www.themessageonline.org
Burch will receive two $10 gift cards for the Black Buggy in Washington or Evansville. O’Lerary will receive two $10 gift cards for the Cross-eyed Cricket in Evansville.
Congratulations to our winners and to all visitors to the website.
The website offers selected items from the latest print edition of the Message, along with access to archived reports, daily updates from Catholic News Service, video features from the Vatican and Washington, and news items in English and Spanish.
Recent local stories included a feature on a family at the Ozanam Family Shelter in Evansville, along with information on why the shelter needs assistance to operate next year.
Visitors may also click on the “For more news, see our archives” item to revisit stories published earlier in the year.
Among the local columns included is Taking the Time to Make a Difference, available in printed form and also in an audio version.
Also available are the texts of columns by Deacon Jim and Ann Cavera on “The Second Half,” Father Donald Dilger on the Sunday Scriptures, and Father Jim Sauer on “The Christian Journey.”
Feature stories by Mary Ann Hughes, new and from the archives, are also available to website visitors.
Bulletin Board items and articles from “Around the Diocese” are among local materials available each week.
Under the heading of National and World news, website visitors will find the “Crossplayer” from Catholic News Service, offering live coverage of Vatican events, video reports in English or Spanish, and other news articles.
As the website continues to grow in popularity and in adding new features, advertisers have taken the opportunity to give Message visitors information about their goods and services, and to have links to their own websites. Advertising revenue helps to pay for the communications services of the Diocese of Evansville.
