Retirement

Best theme

“Our float won the best theme entry at the Loogootee Tribune Parade,” reports Shir-ley Jeffers, youth minister at St. John Church, Loogootee.

Cans for Cash

Students at St. James School, Haubstadt, have collected a total of 4,062 pounds of aluminum during the local “Cans for Cash” challenge sponsored by Alcoa Warrick Operations and Keep Evansville Beautiful.

Long-range planning

Bob Seib is president of the long-range planning commission at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Haubstadt.

Rick Knapp is vice-president.

Members include Matt Stoll, Tess Rumble, Gina Baker, Al-an Wade, Terry Spindler, Steve Wilzbacher, Elaine Tenbarge and Gary Goedde.

Student Council expenditures

The Student Council at Good Shepherd School, Evansville, thanks “all the students and parents who supported the Christ-mas card/candy cane sale.”

The Student Council uses its funds to help with various activities and projects for the school. Recent expenses for November and December in-cluded

  • $162.08 for postage for Prayer Partner and our troops’ cards;
  • $76.28 for Advent projects;
  • $150 in gift cards for our adopted Iraqi family;
  • $50 to Food for the Poor;
  • $100 to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry;
  • $50 to St. Vincent’s Day Care Center.

Men’s Club Officers

New officers of the Men’s Club at Holy Spirit Church, Evansville, include Phil Luecke, president; Chris Wolf, vice-president; Bob Head, treasurer, and Steve DeHaven, secretary.
