Teacher of the Month
Congratulations to Elizabeth Murray who was named Teacher of the Month for December from Applebee’s Restaurant. She was presented with a framed certificate of recognition and a gift card.
She teaches speech, literature and grammar at Good Shep-herd School, Evansville.

It’s a girl!
“We’d like to welcome the newest addition to our St. Matthew School family,” writes Vickie Wannemuehler, principal at the Mount Vernon School.
“Colbie Christine Buchanan weighs seven pounds and is 20 inches long. Proud parents, Jus-tin and Annie Buchanan, are both doing very well and thank you for your prayers and support during the past nine months.”
Justin teaches language arts, science, health and physical education at the school.
Hiefer International
“What a wonderful job the students at Westside Catholic Junior High did this year for Heifer International!” writes Kris Schroeder, teacher.
“They collected $880.30. With that money, they sent a share of a heifer, goat, tree seedlings, water buffalo and one pig, one llama, one flock of geese, two goats, two trios of rabbits, three hives of honeybees, four flocks of chickens and a world full of hope to many impoverished people throughout the world.”

Welcome
Holy Family School in Jasper welcomes Cindy Miller as an office assistant, Katie Henry as a student teacher, and Don Bradberry who will be working in maintenance.
Junior High dance
“We had a fairly good turnout at the junior high dance,” reports Shirley Jeffers, youth minister at St. John Church, Loogootee. Thanks to chaperones Susan Norris, Adam Tomp-kins, Mitch Green and Logan Dant.
“We sent half the proceeds to Catholic Relief Services for the Haiti disaster.”
45 years
Congratulations to Jerry and Louise Branch as they celebrate their forty-fifth wedding anniversary. They are parishioners at St. Philip Neri Church, Bicknell.
Walking Club
The Walking Club at Holy Rosary School, Evansville, is underway, according to Joan Fred-rich, principal. Students walk in the gym on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7 to 7:30 a.m.
