Priests showed seminarian that priesthood is for real people

Seminarians for the Diocese of Evansville gathered for their annual retreat at Sarto Retreat Hosue in Evansville in August 2009, prior to their return to formal seminary studies in the fall. Each participant filled out a brief questionnaire for this series.

Nick Seib, 33, is in his first year of theology studies at St. Meinrad School of Theology. Nick has one older brother, Mark. They are the sons of Dennis and Karen Seib of Newburgh, where they are members of St. John the Baptist Church.

How did you spend your summer? I interned with Father Phil Kreilein at Resurrection Church on the west side of Evansville.

What was the best thing (or maybe, what were the highlights) of your summer? The highlight of my summer assignment was to see the connection of the parishioners to the priest and the individual flavor of parishioner participation.

What are the courses/subject matter of the year ahead? Theology.

Since this is the Year for Priests, can you identify a priest who has had an influence on your life? What was the influence? Father Alex Zenthoefer and Father Jason Gries both showed me that the priesthood is for real people who live in the real world.
