Around the Diocese
Reconciliation
“It’s that time of year again when we priests get swamped with confessions, which is good,” writes Father Ron Kreilein, pastor at St. Peter Celestine Church, Celestine, and St. Raphael Church, Dubois.
“I love to hear them, knowing that I am helping God’s grace to be brought to the penitent.
“I’m always amazed how some people rarely receive the sacrament. When people tell me they haven’t gone to confession for a whole year, I usually asked them what would happen if they didn’t bathe more than once a year.
“They make faces and say they couldn’t stand it. Well, that’s kind of what happens to our soul, which God sees, when we don’t cleanse it more than once or twice a year.”
