Around the Diocese
Communication
“In the interest of saving money and to increase the ability of communicating with our people, we have added two new methods of contacting our people,” writes Father Joseph Ziliak in the parish newsletter at St. John the Baptist Church, Newburgh.
“We are using e-mail and a phone tree program.”
He noted that the “e-mail approach is an inexpensive way of getting from our computer to yours . . . . We send very few e-mails. We don’t want to abuse the system nor wear you out. We will be discriminating in the use.”
The phone tree system “allows us to make phone calls to everyone in the parish. We did this just before Christmas to wish everyone a blessed Christ-mas along with a reminder of the Mass times.
“We are trying to be judicious in using the phone.”
