Southwest Summer Luncheon Series for church leaders
Three luncheon presesentations are scheduled by the Center for Congregations in Evansville, all at Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville.
Marketing 101, with June Miller of the Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network, will be held Tuesday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Advanced Health Care Directives, with John Charles, chaplain at St. Mary’s Medical Center, on Tuesday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Strengthening Your Worship Team, with Greg Graham, Blue Grass United Methodist Church creative arts director, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $10 per person for each luncheon event; the fee includes lunch and a book.
Participation is limited to Indiana congregations.

Shoals artist’s work on display at St. Meinrad
The St. Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is presenting an exhibit of recent abstract paintings by Shoals artist Bill Whorrall. Exhibit dates are May 31 through June 27. Whorrall has a master’s degree in fine arts and a master’s degree in secondary education, both from Indiana University. Currently, he teaches at Precious Blood School in Jasper.
He has exhibited his work in the Waldron Art Center in Bloomington, Ind., and the Zephyr Gallery in Louisville among other venues. His work is found in many collections, including Bristol-Myers Squibb in Evansville and the Owensboro, Ky., Museum of Fine Art.
His work is described as colorful and exuberant. The abstract and geometric forms materialize in a variety of media, both in paintings and three-dimensional works.

Emeritus Overseers at St. Meinrad
Three former members of the St. Meinrad Board of Overseers have been named emeritus members of the board, which provides counsel to the president-rector of St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.
At its April 24 meeting, the Board of Overseers named Father Mike Hohenbrink, Joseph Steurer and Ronald Tisch as emeritus members.
Father Hohenbrink is a priest of the Diocese of Toledo and an alumnus of St. Meinrad.
Joseph Steurer of Jasper is the chairman of the board of JOFCO Inc. of Jasper. Along with being active in various community service agencies, he is the vice chairman of the board of Memorial Hospital and a past director of German American Bank. He was a member of the St. Meinrad Board of Overseers for 18 years.
Ronald Tisch, of Sewickley, Pa., and Paradise Valley, Ariz., is retired as executive vice president for Calgon Carbon Corporation of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as a trustee for Brescia University, Owensboro, Ky, and is on the board of Girls Hope of Pittsburgh.
Preschool options available
Resurrection School in Evansville is now offering a full day preschool for three- and four-year-olds. Parents have an option of sending a child to a two-and-a-half hour program or an extended program, where students may be picked up as late at 5:30 p.m.
