Parish life and ministry
In a letter to parishioners at St. Philip Neri Church, Bicknell, Father Jason Gries writes, “This Thursday, Christopher Droste moved in to be with us for the summer.
“Christopher is a seminarian who just completed his first year of Theological studies at St. Meinrad. He finished his undergraduate studies at the Bruté Seminary on the campus of Marian College in Indianapolis last year.
“He will be with us for 10 weeks this summer to experience parish life and ministry.”

Father Kenneth Steckler, a priest of the Diocese of Evansville, celebrates his birthday June 19.
Anniversary of ordination
Father Stephen Lintzenich was ordained to the priesthood June 22, 1974. He is pastor of St. Mary Church in Evansville, moderator of St. John the Apostle and St. Joseph churches, both in Evansville, temporary administrator at St. Matthew Church, Mount Vernon, and Holy Angels Church, New Harmony, and part-time clergy personnel director for the Diocese of Evansville.
Pro-life coordinator
Bev Hirsch is the new pro-life coordinator at Holy Cross Church, Fort Branch.
Pastoral associate
Rob Henson is the new pastoral associate at St. Mary Church, Evansville. In the parish bulletin, he writes, “My sense of ministry is collaborative and empowering. Leadership in ministry is through witness, prayer and catechesis. Ultimately, we are all called to ministry in some way whether we are staff, volunteers, members of a family or co-workers at a place of business.”

Saying thanks

Saying good bye
In the parish newsletter at Holy Family Church, Jasper, Father John Boeglin, pastor, writes, “I want to thank Mrs. [Jeanne] Heltzel for her devotion to our school and parish. We will miss you and we wish you God’s blessings for your future minister.”
She is retiring after serving 10 years as principal at Holy Family School.
Father Boeglin added, “We also want to thank Ruth Ann Guthery, our school secretary since September 1, 1968, for 42 years of service. She has literally given her life and energy for the good of our school over these past 42 years. She has also been very involved with sports over these last 42 years.
“Ruth Ann Guthery is a very important part of our school history.”
Altar Society
Kathy Truelove is chairperson of the Altar Society at St. Martin Church, Whitfield. Members include Mary Lou Harding, Joanne Craney, Marilyn Arvin, Ann Arvin, Pearl McCann and Mary Louise Lentz.

Sister Karen Bahlmann, principal at Christ the King School, Evansville, celebrates her birthday June 18. She is a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence.
