Father Sasse assigned to parishes in Vincennes

Father John Sasse, who has served since June 24, 2009 as associate pastor of three parishes in Gibson County with Father Tony Ernst as pastor, has been appointed by Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger as associate pastor of two parishes in Vincennes with Father David Fleck as pastor.

Father Sasse, 41, a southwestern Indiana native who joined the Legionairies of Christ in 1989, returned to serve in the diocese in 2009. He was ordained a priest Dec. 24, 2002.

Father Sasse has served as associate pastor at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Haubstadt, Holy Cross Church in Fort Branch and St. Bernard Church in Snake Run.

In his new assignment, he will serve as associate pastor of St. John the Baptist Church and St. Vincent Church, both in Vincennes. The appointment is effective Wednesday, June 16.

Father Sasse, fluent in several languages including Spanish, will also continue to serve as sacramental minister for the Spanish Speaking Ministry of the Diocese of Evansville.
