People We Care About
Following is a feature in the Message, designed to help draw together the People of God in southwestern Indiana. Readers are invited to submit information about people who may benefit by some extra prayers and attention.
• Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger is requesting prayers for two priests in the Diocese of Evansville. In a July 13 e-mail, he writes,
“Father John Lefler’s cancer has returned with a vengeance. Bob Hillenbrand serves as his faithful health care representative and serves Father John with the greatest care and daily attention. Let us pray for both Father John and Bob.
“Father Ray Kuper is scheduled to have cardiac surgery to remove a tumor from his heart on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. He has asked that I ask for your prayers.”
Father Lefler is a retired priest of the diocese. Father Kuper is the sacramental minister at St. Theresa Church in Evansville.
