56 eighth graders receive Serra Club honors
Fifty-six students from 25 parishes recently received Youth Service Awards sponsored by the Serra Club of Evansville.
The awards were presented to eighth graders in parish schools and religious education classes for those not attending Catholic schools in the deaneries of Evansville, Newburgh and Princeton.
The honorees were selected by their teachers for outstanding service to their Church and communities.
Those receiving the awards at ceremonies held at their home parishes were:
- Christ the King, Evansville: Hugh Ehrensbeck and Michael Brandon.
- Corpus Christi, Evansville: Noah Schweizer, Ryan Holm and Kiersten Singer.
- Good Shepherd, Evansville: Nicole Schapker, Justine Blanke and Lydia Rahman.
- Holy Cross, Fort Branch: Jennifer Riedford and Nick Kiesel.
- Holy Redeemer, Evansville: Stephanie Luigs and Carolyn Wilmes.

The Serra Club is an international organization of men and women providing support and encouragement of religious vocations in the church. The Evansville club meets for lunch at noon on the first Friday of each month in Holy Trinity’s parish center on Third Street in downtown Evansville.
