Youth ministry to present musical, dinner theater
St. Maria Goretti Catholic Youth Ministry will be presenting an original musical, “IDK, My BFF Jesus,” Friday, July 16, through Sunday, July 18, in the Sts. Peter and Paul School Cafeteria in Haubstadt.
The show was written and composed by Anna Bittner and Jacob Sellers, two youth from Holy Cross Church in Fort Branch, according to Jenniver Blackstone, youth ministry coordinator.
“It follows the story of Karen, who finds she is pregnant during her senior year of high school, and her journey as she experiences God’s love and forgiveness,” Blackstone said. “It addresses issues relevant to today’s teens including gossip, teen pregnancy and abortion.”
The Friday and Sunday shows include a dinner theater. Cost is $10 for adults, or $8 for kids 12 and under. The last day to purchase dinner theater tickets is July 8.
Saturday’s production will be a theater-style performance only. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under.
