Holy Family School “Gives Thanks”
On Nov. 20, 63 cities across the nation hosted a “Give thanks Walk” to raise funds for the kids of St. Jude. Almost all of these walks were held in large metropolitan cities, yet that did not deter the town of Jasper from hosting a walk.
This campaign is a national awareness and fundraising campaign that asks everyone to “Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not.”
The students, staff and Holy Family community came toge-ther with the residents of Jas-per to raise over $36,000. That amount added to the other funds raised nationwide totaled $2.2 million towards the kids of St. Jude.
“We, at Holy Family School, are especially touched by this outpouring of support for St. Jude, as one of our own students is courageously fighting her own battle with childhood cancer and receives treatments at St. Jude,” said Sally Sternberg, Holy Family principal.
“What an amazing way to honor [the student] Aubrey and make a difference — one step at a time in the lives of the patients and families at St Jude!”
