Ten ways Catholic Charities serves people, supporting marriage and family life
Marriage Preparation — Preparation for your marriage should begin at least eight to twelve months prior to your anticipated wedding date or as soon you are engaged. You can keep on track by following this timeline (http://www.ourcatholicmarriage.org/engaged/timeline/) and referring questions to the priest, pastoral minister or deacon at the parish in which you intend to marry.

FOCCUS (pre-marital inventory) — Contact your parish to set-up an appointment to take the inventory. Engaged couples can also receive pre-marital counseling using the FOCCUS inventory through Catholic Charities if their parish does not offer this preparation. Please call 812-423-5456 to find out more or to make an appointment.
Sponsor Couple Program — If you are an engaged couple interested in this program for marriage preparation, please contact your parish. If you are a married couple interested in becoming a sponsor couple, contact your parish or Catholic Charities for more information.
Marriage Enrichment — Parishes routinely offer programs and presentations for married couples or promote other community activities. Catholic Charities staff offers support, resources and presenters as requested.
Wisdom Days — Wisdom Days are jointly sponsored by Catholic Charities and the Catholic Foundation of Southwestern Indiana. The gatherings are free to those who attend because of generous donations from corporate, parish and individual sponsors. A Wisdom Day Endowment was recently opened to fund these day for generations to come. Contact the Foundation at 800-637-1731.
Golden Jubilee Celebration — This year’s Golden Jubilee Celebration will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at 1 p.m. Central Time at Good Shepherd Church in Evansville. For more information please contact Kathy Halbig at Catholic Charities 812-423-5456.
Mother/Daughter Programs — This program is for girls (age 10-12) and their mothers. It is held every other spring. For more information or to register, please contact Emily Snipes at Catholic Charities 812-423-5456.
Father/Son Programs — This program is for boys (age 11-14) and their fathers. It is held every other spring. To register, please contact Emily Snipes at Catholic Charities 812-423-5456.
