Strategic planning process heading toward potential changes

Parishes and schools in the Diocese of Evansville are about to begin a period of self-assessment, the next stage in the strategic planning process.
This part of the process may take parish and school leaders, along with parishioners and school parents, until Summer to complete. Ultimately, two committees will use the results of surveys and other data they have gathered to make some recommendations to the bishop for potential changes.
Surveys for parishioners and school parents will be available in printed form and online. The opportunity for face-to-face discussion will take place at strategic planning meetings scheduled in each deanery of the Diocese of Evansville — a total of seven meetings during February and March.
Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. local time in each location, with the meeting following from 6 to 8 p.m.
Participants will hear a brief presentation from diocesan staff members, followed by a chance to discuss the self-assessment surveys that are being prepared by two strategic planning committees.
(Although the surveys are still in draft form, descriptions of the parish self assessment document and the school self assessment document are provided on the inside front cover of this issue of the Message.)
