By PAUL R. LEINGANG (Message editor)

Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger has appointed Father David Fleck as pastor of a third parish — adding Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Petersburg while continuing as pastor of St. John the Baptist and St. Vincent de Paul churches in Vincennes. Father Fleck will also continue as Dean of the Vincennes Deanery.

Father Ryan Hilderbrand, who was appointed as associate pastor of the two parishes in Vincennes, effective Jan. 5, has also been appointed as associate pastor of the parish in Petersburg.

The new responsibilities for Father Fleck and Father Hilderbrand are effective Wednes-day, March 2.

In Washington, Father Gordon Mann returned from his health leave to Our Lady of Hope Church, effective Feb. 14. Father James Koressel had served as temporary administrator of Our Lady of Hope until Father Mann’s return.

With the new appointments to Petersburg, Father Koressel is relieved of pastoral duties at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, effective March 2.

Father Koressel continues as pastor of St. Peter Church, Montgomery, and of All Saints Church, Cannelburg. He also continues as Dean of the Washington Deanery.

Father James Sauer, who has been associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Jasper, has been named associate pastor of three parishes in Posey County, with Father Thomas Kessler as pastor. The churches are St. Matthew, Mount Vernon, St. Philip, Posey County, and Holy Angels, New Harm-ony.

Father William Traylor follows Father Sauer as associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Jasper, where Father Ray Brenner is the pastor.

Both the Jasper and Posey County appointments are effective March 2.
