Vocation Appreciation dinner held in Washington
One hundred thirty guests attended the twenty-third annual Vocation Appreciation Dinner in Washington which is sponsored by the Fourth Degree Lawrence A. Vieck Assembly.
Designated seminarians and women novices were recognized and each given a $500 monetary gift to help with their education costs.
This year’s awards were presented by Rick Flynn, grand knight of Washington Council 630, Jerry Price, grand knight of the Father Ryan Council 6679 in Linton, David Colvin, faithful navigator, of the Lawrence A. Vieck Assembly, and Joyce Schwenk of the Wash-ington Ladies Auxiliary.
The recipients included seminarians Jeff Read and Brian Emmick, and Sister Gemma (Julia Allison) who is a novice at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
Providence Sisters Mary Beth Klingle, Joane Quinkert and Mary Montgomery accepted the award for Sister Gem-ma.
The guests were entertained after the award presentations by the St. John Folk Group of Vincennes which includes Rich-ard Faulkner, John Faulkner, Mark Klueh and George Promley.
