Reitz Memorial principal to serve as principal at Christ the King in 2011-2012
Gwen Godsey, principal at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, has accepted the position of principal at Christ the King School in Evansville for the 2011-2012 school year.
“Mrs. Godsey, who served as principal of Reitz Memorial High School for the last three years, is looking forward to remaining part of the Memorial family as she leads Christ the King School which is a feeder school to Memorial,” said Daryl Hagan, diocesan superintendent of schools.
In a statement to Reitz Memorial parents, she said, “I am very excited to announce that I have been offered and have accepted the principalship at Christ the King Catholic School beginning the 2011 - 2012 school year.
“I will continue as principal of Memorial through the end of this school year and transition to my new role over the summer. I am excited to continue to be a part of the Memorial community and work closely with the wonderful faculty, parents and students.
“I want to thank each of you for your continued support the past three years.”
Ken Schultheis is the executive director at Reitz Memorial. He commended Godsey for her “energy, effort and the commitment that she has given to all the students, families and members of the Memorial community.
“I am excited that she will remain in the eastside Catholic school system. I know she will continue to have a positive impact on the Catholic education process in our diocese.”
The search process for a principal at Reitz Memorial High School is now underway, according to Hagan.
