40 and 45 years of service
Teachers in diocesan schools recognized for anniversaries

Teachers in the Diocese of Evansville who completed significant years of service at the end of the 2010-2011 school year will be recognized at the annual Back to School gathering Aug. 4 at Holy Redeemer School in Evansville.
FORTY-FIVE YEARS
- Bonnie Ambrose is a language arts, math and religion teacher at Holy Rosary School in Evansville, where she has served for 38 years. She began her career in the diocese in 1966 at Sts. Peter and Paul School in Haubstadt. She also taught at Nativity, Sacred Heart and Corpus Christi schools, all in Evansville.
- Quentin Merkel teaches health and physical education at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville. He has been on the faculty there for 42 years. From 1966 to 1969, he taught at Holy Rosary School in Evansville.
FORTY YEARS
- David Wathen teaches religion and social studies at Mater Dei High School in Evansville, where he has been a member of the staff for 27 years. He has also taught at Sacred Heart School in Vincennes, and at Christ the King and Corpus Christi schools, both in Evansville.
- Jane Herr is a third grade teacher at St. Wendel School in St. Wendel where she began teaching in 1968.
