Installation of officers in Washington
Installation of officers for the Lawrence A. Vieck Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, was held at the Knights of Columbus Home in Washington. In attendance were, front row, Floyd Tuggle, Vincent Sellers, Larry Brochin, Lowell Smith, James Greene, Thomas Tucker, second row, Richard Ostby, George Wilz, Robert Behme, Vaughn Garrett, Father Gordon Mann, Greg McCarty, David Colvin, Deacon Dennis Hilderbrand, Mark Scott , Steven Riney, James Templin, Jerry Walker, Fred Schwenk, Jeffrey Norris and Andrew Arvin. The Mass and the installation of officers for the Lawrence A. Vieck Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, was held recently at the Knights of Columbus Home in Washington.
Father Gordon Mann, pastor at Our Lady of Hope Church in Washington, was the celebrant for the Mass.
In his homily, he acknowledged the many activities of the organization and how such activities are an essential part on the journey of salvation — a choice that each one personally makes.
Father Mann and Jeffrey Norris installed the new officers: Faithful Navigator, David Colvin; Comptroller, Mark Scott; Captain, James Templin; Admiral, Charles Ostby; Purser, Deacon Dennis Hilderbrand; Pilot, Floyd Tuggle; Scribe, Greg McCarty; Inner Sentinel, Patrick Dwyer; Outer Sentinel, Carl Grannan; one year trustee, Vaughn Garrett; two year trustee Jerome Walker; three year trustee Andrew Arvin.
The Fourth Degree Assembly of Washington was founded in 1948, and this year celebrates its sixtythird anniversary.
The Assembly consists of 73 members, 47 active members, and 26 honorary life members. This year, honorary life membership was granted to the following members: Donald La Grange, Joseph Wuertz, John Briggeman and Lowell Smith.
After Mass and installation of officers, dinner was served in the dining room.
