Leadership awards to Mater Dei, Reitz Memorial students

Thirty-one students from Mater Dei and Reitz Memorial high schools in Evansville were honored with leadership awards at the Tomorrow’s WorkForce luncheon Sept. 27.

Mater Dei students include Alexa Bueltel, Adam Blankenberger, Paul Elpers, Adriana Funke, Jacob Hahn, Austin Hoefling, Jessica Kelley, Sarah Kelley, Austin Knapp, Jenna Kruse, Daniel Mann, Amelia Reckelhoff, Garrett Scott, Devon Tenbarge and Joey Wilson.

Reitz Memorial students include Kellie Ackerman, Maria Anderson, Jillian Belmonte, Sarah Crowson, Claire Ehrensbeck, Marco Hawa, Andrew Hermann, Marshall Howell, Benjamin Johnson, Chandler Headdy, Tessa Kilbane, Andrew Lasher, Kristen Loehr, Weston Coward and Lindsey Paris.

In addition, a new component to the student honor is a Job Shadow Program sponsored by Legence Bank which enables the top five Leadership Award recipients to job shadow a professional in their field of choice for an entire day, according to Sarah Wagner, development director at Mater Dei. “We have secured a variety of real world experiences with these ten students,” Wagner said.

Mater Dei Students selected for the Job Shadow Program are Adriana Funke, at Gray Photography; Jacob Hahn, FBI Cyber Crime Taskforce, intelligence analyst; Daniel Mann, Deaconess Hospital, brain surgeon; Amelia Reckelhoff, Deaconess Hospital; and Joey Wilson, Bristol Myers Squibb.

Memorial students in the Job Shadow Program are Maria Anderson, Deaconess Hospital, general medicine; Weston Coward, Frick and Powell, attorney; Sarah Crowson, Deaconess Hospital, general medicine; Claire Ehrensbeck, Deaconess Hospital, nurse practitioner, physician; and Andrew Lasher, Bernardin Lochmueller Associates, engineering.
