Message Coloring Contest winners are announced

Over 1,00 students in Catholic schools and religious education programs throughout the Diocese of Evansville participated in the annual Message coloring contest, which was open to students in grades kindergarten through four.

Diane Csukas, Message secretary, said she received 1,008 entries from schools, parishes and Message subscribers.

The four grand prize winners include

  • Maddox Schnell, kindergarten, Precious Blood School, Jasper;
  • Bryson Brown, first grade, St. Joseph School, Princeton;
  • Corbyn Schnell, second grade, Precious Blood School, Jasper;
  • Rose Tempel, third grade, St. James School, Haubstadt;
  • Ann Michael Siewert, fourth grade, St. Benedict Cathedral School, Evansville.

They each won $20 gift certificates from G.D. Ritzy plus classroom ice cream parties.

First place winners include

  • Brent Katowitz, kindergarten, Corpus Christi School, Evansville;
  • Cain Boehman, first grade, St. Philip School, Posey County;
  • Deondre Bothast-Revallee, second grade, St. Benedict Cathedral School, Evansville;
  • Taylor A. Schuler, third grade, Good Shepherd School, Evansville;
  • Isaiah Kiesel, fourth grader, St. James School, Haubstadt.

First place winners will each receive a $10 gift certificate from G.D. Ritzy.

Second place winners include

  • Nicole Bender, kindergarten, St. Wendel School, St. Wendel;
  • Hannah Kent, first grade, Holy Rosary School, Evansville;
  • Cassie Hasenour, second grade, Sts. Peter and Paul School, Haubstadt;
  • Kelly Bersch, third grade, Holy Rosary School, Evansville;
  • Emma Yarber, fourth grade, St. Matthew School, Mount Vernon.

They each won a $5 gift certificate from G.D. Ritzy.

Third place winners include

  • Aubrey Flatt, kindergarten, Precious Blood School, Jasper;
  • Ashlee Wahl, first grade, St. Mary Church, Huntingburg;
  • Ethan Lyke, second grade, St. Joseph School, Vanderburgh County;
  • Catherine Werthmann, third grade, Holy Rosary School, Evansville;
  • Julie Lizcano, fourth grade, St. Joseph School, Princeton.

They will each receive a coupon for a free double dip ice cream cone from G.D. Ritzy.
