A “Celebrating Community and Family” event is planned in Celestine, Sunday, Feb. 26, to observe the one year anniversary of the Feb. 28 tornado that hit Celestine in 2011.

“We are thanking and inviting family, friends and neighbors in joining us for a Mass of celebration at 6 p.m. and the inspiring Jesse Manibusan will speak and perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Celestine Church,” said Glenda Prechtel, director of religious education at St. Peter Celestine Church.

A thank you and invitation will be published in the Jasper Deanery church bulletins. ”The area churches of Dubois County contributed so much to our community and this is our way of thanking them all,” Prechtel said. “It should be an amazing evening.”
