Distinguished Family award

Elmer and Marilyn Brames have received the 2012 Distinguished Family Award from Holy Family School. The award was given during Catholic Schools Week, according to Sally Sternberg, principal.

“The Brames’ sent their three children, Tara, Dana and Kyle to Holy Family School. Their legacy continues today as their grandchildren, Abe (second grade), Leo (kindergarten), and Kai (pre-school) are currently attending Holy Family School.

“Elmer and Marilyn have instilled in their children and grandchildren the importance of faith and living a life of service to the church. Even more importantly, they continue to model their love of our Church through their active involvement in Holy Family Parish. They have willingly served, and continue to serve, in a variety of ministries: Parish Council, Finance Council, Holy Family Leg-acy Society, Welcoming Committee, Bereavement Ministry, CRHP, Stewardship Ministry, Fellowship Sunday, Ministry Fair and the Parish Guidebook and Directory, just to name a few.

She added, “Elmer and Marilyn’s children have watched them witness their faith through their involvement and only naturally, their children have also grown to be involved in the parish community.

“The Brames’ love of their faith and active life in the Church has naturally spilled over to include their support of Holy Family School. Elmer graciously gives of his time year after year to train our fifth grade class to be servers. Marilyn coordinates the Children’s Steward-ship envelopes each year. And of course, they are eager to help out when one of the grandchildren has a need for a special ‘mystery minutes’ activity or guest! It is evident that the Brames’ love and care for the needs of the children in Holy Family School, as they continue to model a life of service for them.”
