Diocese Realigns Deaneries

By Tim Lilley The Message Editor

On July 1, the Diocese of Evansville will have four deaneries for its 54 parishes. This realignment decreases the number of deaneries by three. Bishop Charles C. Thompson issued the decree realigning deaneries on March 31. It is published on page 13 of this issue of The Message.

“Catholics across the diocese will not notice significant differences in their parishes,” said Diocese of Evansville Chancellor Tim McGuire. “Throughout the series of listening sessions Bishop (Charles C.) Thompson held during the two rounds of parish reorganization, he talked about realigning the deaneries. The new alignment will continue to build on existing relationships among our parishes.”
